LinkedIn Has 3,377 Members In Antarctica

If you’re managing campaigns in LinkedIn, you spend a lot of time in the interface (since they don’t have an offline editor yet, #fingerscrossed). Sometimes I get a little curious when I see certain targeting options. This is one of those times.

How many LinkedIn users are in Antarctica?

Luckily, advertisers can see this information easily as they set their targeting. Behold, the number of LinkedIn users in Antarctica:

LinkedIn Users Antarctica

My initial reaction was to call “Shenanigans” on this number. However, the Wikipedia entry for Antarctica states the following:

There are no permanent human residents, but anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 people reside throughout the year at the research stations scattered across the continent.

So it would appear that LinkedIn has great penetration on the 7th continent!
